Arthur Williams, a biomedical equipment technician (BMET) with the 59th Medical Logistics and Readiness Squadron out of Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas, repairs a binocular indirect ophthalmoscope used by optometry staff to view the inside of the eyes March 5, 2017, in Azua, Dominican Republic, during a NEW HORIZONS 2017 medical readiness training exercise. Having a BMET on staff to repair crucial equipment aided operations during the annual NEW HORIZONS mission that began in the mid-1980s and trains military civil engineers and medical professionals to deploy and conduct joint operations.
