JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (March 20, 2017) – Cmdr. Julie Conrardy (2nd from right), Naval Hospital (NH) Jacksonville’s perioperative nurse program director, explains the duties of certified emergency nurses to hospital staff during a Certified Nurses Day celebration at the hospital. This annual celebration (March 19) honors nurses who contribute to better patient outcomes through national board certification in their specialty. Currently, NH Jacksonville has 111 certified nurses. Certified Nurses Day was inspired by Dr. Margretta 'Gretta' Madden Styles, who was a pioneer in nursing certification.
