Two armed U.S. Army soldiers in ACU (Army Combat Uniform) camouflage are posing next to an ancient stone statue at what appears to be the archaeological site of Hatra in Iraq. Two local civilian boys are also present near the statue base, while a third soldier is visible in the background. The ancient Parthian-era ruins with colonnaded architecture form the backdrop.

After an early morning Key Leader Engagement, soldiers from Crazy Troop, 3-7 Cavalry, 2HBCT, 3ID, take a small detour to Al Hatra, an ancient ruined city located southwest of Mosul in the Al-Jazarah region and do a little site seeing before heading back on a three hour convoy to Contingency Operating Site Marez, Sept 18.
