Service Members past and present, families and members of the community joined together pay their respects during the 35th Annual Copper 5 Memorial, hosted by the Arizona National Guard’s 161st Air Refueling Wing, Mar. 13. Copper 5 was the call sign for a Boeing KC-135A Stratotanker aerial refueling jet from the 161st that was involved in a mid-air collision with a civilian plane, killing the four person aircrew on Mar. 13, 1982.
