Pilots in the cockpit of the C-17 Globemaster steer the plane towards French Guiana during the first leg of the trip to South Africa. Members of the 106th Rescue Wing from F.S. Gabreski Air National Guard Base, out of Westhampton Beach, N.Y., travel aboard a C-17 Globemaster II aircraft headed to Cape Town, South Africa, on Sept. 15. The 106th members are participating in the African Aerospace and Defense Exposition 2010 and are traveling with an HH-60, members of the 106th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron and Pararescuemen from the 103rd Rescue Squadron.
