ARTA BEACH, Djibouti (Feb. 15, 2017) U.S. Marine Cpl. Sean Bensel, a landing support specialist, ensures a sling is properly secured to a concrete barrier during helicopter external load training at Arta Beach, Djibouti, Feb. 15. Checking slings before lifting is essential to ensure the sling is ready to support the external load. The Marines and Sailors of the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit consistently train to keep their skills ready for crisis response and contingency operations throughout the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility.
