Sailors from a joint service color guard render a salute during morning colors aboard the Battleship Missouri Memorial before a ceremony to observe the 65th anniversary of the end of World War II. The ceremony included remarks by U.S. Senator Daniel K. Inouye and U.S. Secretary of Veterans Affairs Eric K. Shinseki. September 2 is the anniversary of the signing of the Instrument of Formal Surrender of Japan to the Allied Powers, which took place aboard Missouri in Tokyo Bay.
