On Sept 27 a couple of heavy-equipment mechanics with Maintenance Company, Combat Logistics Battalion 5-2, 1st Marine Logistics Group (Forward), work together to repair the boom cylinder on the arm of a 25-ton crane. Lance Cpl. Nate E. Glodjo (left), a 21-year-old from Glasgow, Ky., and Lance Cpl. Erik M. Winkelkotter, a 20-year-old from Seattle, were nearing the end of an 18-hour shift. Combat Logistics Battalion 5-2 is made up of Marines and sailors from 56 separate battalions, active and reserve, representing each of the three Marine Expeditionary Forces and Marine Forces Reserve. Maintenance Company, Combat Logistics Battalion 5-2, 1st Marine Logistics Group is deployed with I MEF (FWD) in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in the Al Anbar Province of Iraq (MNF-W) to develop the Iraqi Security Forces, facilitate the development of official rule of law through democratic government reforms, and continue the development of a market based economy centered on Iraqi Reconstruction.
