Shannon Spalding holds her niece, Briseis, in December 2010. Shannon was diagnosed with stage 1 triple negative breast cancer, March 3, 2010. She went through eight months of aggressive chemotherapy that took a tremendous toll on her body, and reconstructive surgery.
