Shannon Spalding holds her niece, Briseis, in December 2010. Shannon was diagnosed with stage 1 triple negative breast cancer, March 3, 2010. She went through eight months of aggressive chemotherapy that took a tremendous toll on her body, and reconstructive surgery. Shannon struggled with losing her hair, nausea, body pain, countless sleepless nights, ‘chemo brain’ and loss of feeling in her fingers and toes. (Courtesy photo)
