A local family of Hawi Gudina, a village hard-hit by a malaria outbreak, head back to their home after receiving long-lasting insecticidal nets during a distribution by a U.S. Army Civil Affairs team assigned to Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa July 27. The distribution is part of the $1.2 billion Presidential Malaria Initiative to combat the disease, and involves collaboration between CJTF-HOA, the U.S. Agency for International Development, Center for Disease Control and the Ethiopian government and local volunteers.
