Marines and Sailors keep a lookout for small attack craft in the waters surrounding the Bataan Amphibious Ready group during a strait passage exercise Dec. 13, 2016 at sea. The drill was a part of Amphibious Ready Group Marine Expeditionary Unit Exercise, or ARGMEUEX. The simulated strait passage pitted the ARG against a myriad of potential real-world threats such as small attack boats with armed personnel and fast moving aircraft overhead harassing the three U.S. Navy vessels. ARGMEUEX is a three-week training evolution intended to build upon previous relationships, thereby enhancing Navy and Marine Corps interoperability and amphibious warfare capabilities to tackle a wide range of operations.
