ROTA, Spain (Dec. 8, 2016) Petty Officer 2nd Class Petrina Coleman climbs down a topside escape scuttle from the aft missile deck of the guided-missile destroyer USS Mason (DDG 87). Coleman serves as a gas turbine systems technician and is responsible for the maintenance and operation of the gas turbine propulsion system. Mason, deployed as part of the Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group, is conducting naval operations in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations in support of U.S. national security interests in Europe.
