Reservists help deliver Christmas bundles to remote islands

U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Nelson Dacanay, air transportation specialist with the Air Force Reserve's 44th Aerial Port Squadron, moves Christmas boxes into place so they can be loaded onto a C-130 Hercules as a part of the 65th Operation Christmas Drop at Andersen Air Force Base, Guam, Dec. 7, 2016. Operation Christmas Drop is the longest running humanitarian airlift operation in the history of the Department of Defense, impacting the lives of more than 20,000 islanders. The people of the Micronesian islands can expect to see service members aboard a C-130 Hercules drop a box, attached to a parachute, filled with rice, fish hooks, educational materials, clothing and toys. The 44th Aerial Port Squadron supports the 624th Regional Support Group's mission to deliver mission essential capability through combat readiness, quality management and peacetime deployments in the Pacific area of responsibility.
