As part of a the multinational exercises, Partnership of the Americas and Southern Exchange 2010, U.S. Marines and forces from nine other nations conducted trained for peacekeeping and crisis response situations by conducting an actual humanitarian aid project to revitalize a local school in Peru by providing electricity, running water, and a number of other improvements to better the educational environment.
