Marines from the Scout Sniper Platoon, Headquarters and Service Company, 1st Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, take aim from the flight deck of the amphibious assault ship USS Peleliu July 9. The snipers received their new M40A5 rifle days before the deployment and this was the first opportunity to fire the upgraded rifle.
