1st Lt. Jessica Larson, a physician assistant with 307th Brigade Support Battalion, 1st Advise and Assist Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division, describes how she decided to practice medicine in the Army after a 10-year career in aviation engineering while taking a break from her duties, June 28, at Al Asad Air Base, Iraq. The Chicago native was inspired by the wounded warriors she met in the amputee ward of the Center for the Intrepid at Brooke Army Medical Center, she said.
