Coast Guard Capt. Richard J. Shultz, commander, Sector Southeastern New England, and Rear Adm. Jeffrey A. Harley, president, U.S. Naval War College, participate in a ceremony honoring U.S. military veterans at the Rhode Island Department of Education building. “It is an honor to be here today. We salute the veterans who did their jobs without recognition, the veterans who honored their country but didn’t make the history books, veterans who will never have a street, building, ship named after them,” said Harley. The ceremony was followed by a torch procession by veterans who walked from the Department of Education building to Waterplace Park for the “Waterfire Salute to Veterans.”
