Maj. Gen. Richard L. Simcock II motivates the Marines and Sailors participating in Blue Chromite 2017, on the flight deck of the amphibious transport dock ship USS Green Bay (LPD 20) Okinawa, Japan October 29, 2016. Simcock is the commanding general for 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force. “Look to your left and your right, this is what right looks like,” said Simcock. “Working side by side with Marines and Sailors is what’s right.” In its third iteration, Blue Chromite is designed to strengthen the Navy-Marine Corps expeditionary, amphibious rapid-response capabilities based in Okinawa and the greater Indo-Asia-Pacific region, to include humanitarian assistance and disaster response.
