Iraqi Brig. Gen. Sami Saeed, Basra Air Base commander, gives a thumbs-up from inside a 70th Squadron CH 2000 reconnaissance airplane at Contingency Operating Base Basra, Iraq, June 27, prior to a joint mission with two U.S. AH-64 Apaches from Company C, 1st Squadron, 1st Cavalry Regiment. The mission was the first such joint patrol of the Iranian border for U.S. and Iraqi forces.
