Adm. Patrick Walsh, commander of U.S. Pacific Fleet, Vice Adm. Richard W. Hunt, commander of Combined Task Force, and Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force Rear Adm. Kazuki Yamashita, assistant deputy commander of Combined Task Force, break the cover of a sake barrel with representing members from the Republic of Korea and Singapore to start the Rim of the Pacific 2010 reception aboard the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force guided-missile destroyer JS Atago. RIMPAC is a biennial, multinational exercise designed to strengthen regional partnerships and improve interoperability.
