A new jointly-used Armed Forces Reserve Center in Great Falls, Montana is now named the Capt. John E. Moran and Capt. William W. Galt Armed Forces Reserve Center.

Soldiers in the U.S. Army Reserve’s 364th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) and the Montana Army National Guard dedicated the newer building during an official ceremony Oct. 21 to the two Great Falls natives who each earned the Congressional Medal of Honor—Moran for his heroics in the Philippine-American War in 1900 and Galt for his bravery during the Second World War.

The ceremony hosted several members of the Galt family and featured speakers that included the Montana National Guard Adjutant General, the governor of Montana, and state and federal legislators. The 364th ESC’s commanding general also spoke during the ceremony.

"Today we don't have the same adversaries that we did back then. However, all know that if we don't stay vigilant, if we don't maintain a ready Army, if our soldiers don't keep up the same kinds of skills that we ask them to, those things might be lost," said Brig, Gen. Greg Mosser, Commanding General of the 364th ESC.

The 889th Quartermaster Company and the Montana National Guard will use the Great Falls Reserve Center for their monthly battle training assemblies.
