PANEVEZYS, Lithuania – Paratroopers from 2nd Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment (Airborne), 173rd Infantry Brigade Combat (Airborne), disembark from a helicopter after being dropped off at their objective area Oct. 20 during Exercise Strong Shield. The exercise, which ran through Oct. 23, is a Lithuanian hosted 96-hour continues exercise designed to test the nation’s ability to work with different internal and external agencies to marshal their capabilities and defend their position. The Paratroopers are in Lithuania training with their Lithuanian partners as part of Atlantic Resolve. Atlantic Resolve is a U.S. led effort being conducted in Eastern Europe to demonstrate U.S. commitment to the collective security of NATO and dedication to enduring peace and stability in the region. The helicopters were flown by Soldiers from 3rd Battalion, 501st Aviation Regiment, 1st Armored Division Combat Aviation Brigade.
