RUKLA, Lithuania – A Light Combat All-Terrain Vehicle (L-ATV) sits in front of the barracks here, Oct. 18. The L-ATV will replace the HMMWV, as the Army’s all-terrain troop-carrying vehicle. In 2019, airborne units, starting with the 82nd Airborne Division and following with the 173nd Infantry Brigade Combat (Airborne), will be issued these vehicles, which are light enough to be transported by helicopter. Once the airborne units have been issued the vehicles, the rest of the Army will receive them.
