Lt. Col. Steven Grass, Regimental Combat Team 2 executive officer, gathers three plates for Seaman Cody Thompson, a Regimental Aid Station corpsman, and Senior Chief Petty Officer Kenneth Willburn, RAS Navy senior enlisted leader, during the cake-cutting portion of the Hospital Corps' birthday ceremony held aboard Camp Delaram II, June 17. Grass was the guest of honor at the ceremony. It is Navy tradition to present the guest of honor with a piece of cake, and recognize the youngest and oldest Sailors in attendance; a symbolic representation of both old and new traditions.
