The image shows what appears to be one or two military personnel in a prone position on a desert ridgeline, likely in a overwatch or sniper position. The terrain is arid and rocky, consistent with a Middle Eastern or Central Asian desert environment. The figures are small relative to the landscape, blending into the sandy hillside.

Lance Cpl. Will MacDonald, a squad leader for the machinegun section of Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, Regimental Combat Team 2, lays in the prone, waiting for the enemy to approach, June 11. After nearly an hour of laying in wait, Taliban fired from a hilltop and MacDonald fired 400 to 500 rounds suppressing them and denying the enemy the ability to further engage our troops.
