Chief Warrant Officer 3 Jim den Hartog, left, 1159th Medical Company (Air Ambulance), New Jersey Army National Guard, discusses UH-60 Black Hawk operations with world-renowned author Tom Clancy at Ocean City, Md., July 9, 2002. Clancy and three 1159th aviators were part of an Army training video on the maintenance of the UH-60’s advanced flight control computer, which takes navigation computer signals and transmits them to the flight control computer onboard the Black Hawk. Clancy provided the introduction to the training video. The 1159th, which is located at the Army Aviation Support Facility at Trenton Mercer Airport, N.J., was instrumental in the recovery operations following the attack on the World Trade Center. On Sept. 11, 2001, 1159th aviators flew FBI, Federal Emergency Management Agency, and other federal and state agencies in support of Ground Zero recovery operations.
