Petty Officer 1st Class Viron Smith, damage controlman, assigned to the multipurpose amphibious assault ship USS Bataan, runs a 30-meter dash with students at W.T. Cooke Elementary School in Virginia Beach, Va. Sailors from Bataan teamed up with the faculty to hold an end-of-school field day. Bataan is undergoing a planned maintenance availability in BAE Systems Norfolk Ship Repair Facility.
