Approximately 700 evacuees and 60 dogs and cats arrived to NAS Pensacola from Naval Station Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, after a mandatory evacuation in preparation for Hurricane Matthew. Hurricane Matthew was a category 4 hurricane that formed in the Western Atlantic Ocean and affected the Haiti, eastern Cuba, and the Bahamas before moving up the east coast of the United States.
