The Louisiana National Guard marked the opening of a new readiness center in Franklinton for the 843rd Horizontal Engineer Company, 205th Engineer Battalion, with an official ribbon cutting ceremony presided over by Maj. Gen. Glenn H. Curtis, the adjutant general of the LANG. The new center replaces the original center which was built in 1975 and was heavily damaged by Hurricane Isaac in 2012. It covers over 30,000 square feet and cost roughly $13.5 million to build. (U.S. Army National Guard photo by 1st Lt. Rebekah Malone)
