A drill instructor from Kilo Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, gives the recruits a countdown to finish their given task at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Sept. 23. The recruits will spend each day with their drill instructors getting faster and stronger during their transformation into United States Marines. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Kilo Company is scheduled to graduate Dec. 16.
