Rockaway, N.Y. resident, Capt. Tara Dawe, and 1st Sgt. Alfredo Mendez, from the Bronx, N.Y., fasten their unit's Yellow Banner to the line during a ceremony at Army Support Activity-Dix's Infantry Park, June 7. Their unit, the 442nd Military Police Company, whose motto is "Too Easy," is a New York Army National Guard organization from Jamaica, N.Y. that will deploy to Iraq to conduct a mission training and mentoring the Iraq police force. This will mark the second time the unit will deploy to the region. It was among the first MP organizations that trained IPs in 2003. The Yellow Banner is given to units who mobilize through ASA-Dix as a symbolic gesture that they are in the thoughts and well-wishes of the ASA-Dix community. The banner is hung in Infantry Park while the unit is deployed and given back to the organization upon its return from combat.
