A U.S. Navy Landing Craft Air Cushion designated LCAC-2 is beached on a sandy shore with its bow ramp deployed. A military cargo truck (appears to be an M35-series 2.5-ton truck) is in the process of either loading onto or offloading from the hovercraft. The scene appears to be a amphibious landing or logistics exercise conducted at dusk or dawn.

A Humvee drives up the ramp of a landing craft air cushion vehicle with Assault Craft Unit 4 embarked aboard USS Bataan (LHD-5) during a ship to shore deployment as part of their PHIBRON/MEU integration training at Onslow Beach, North Carolina Sept. 16, 2016. During a ship to shore, LCAC’s vacate the ship from miles off the coast to come ashore and transport Marines with the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit and their equipment back to the vessel. PMINT will help Marines become accustom to working and living with their Navy counterparts on ship, preparing them for their upcoming deployment.
