HOPE HULL, Ala. (Sept. 17, 2016) -- The official party stands at attention as the change of command ceremony begins for the 122nd Troop Command, Alabama Army National Guard, at Army Aviation Support Facility #1, Fort R. W. Shepherd Armory, here, today.
From left to right are Maj. Gen. Charles Lynn Gable, the Assistant Adjutant General of the Alabama Army National Guard; Col. Zachary E. Maner, the outgoing commander of the 122nd; Col. Roger A. Presley, Jr., the incoming commander of the 122nd; Command Sgt. Maj. Wiley P. Russell, the command sergeant major of the 122nd; and Maj. Melvin W. Tucker, chaplain, present to deliver the invocation for the occasion.
Attending the event were more than 150 service members from within the 122nd, select members of the Alabama Army National Guard leadership and guests that include families and friends of service members participating in the ceremony. The 122nd has command and control of all of the aviation units in the Alabama Army National Guard.
