A U.S. Marine Corps F/A-18A Hornet with Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA) 115 takes off during Exercise Valiant Shield 16 at Andersen Air Force Base, Guam, Sept. 18, 2016. The F/A-18A Hornet is used for close air support and counter air defense operations. VS16 is a biennial, U.S.-only, field training exercise that focuses on joint training with U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, and Air Force to increase interoperability and working relationships.
