During Resolute Castle 2016 Soldiers were briefed on the wildlife in the area and discouraged from interacting with animals for health and safety reasons. However, Soldiers at the Cincu Training Center, Cincu Romania worked with a non-profit Puppy Rescue Mission to save eight puppies on 11 Sept, 2016. A volunteer attempted to safely captured the mother of four puppies, but the dog was too fearful. The eight puppies captured begin their journey to Bucharest where they will receive veterinarian care before going to a permanent home. Resolute Castle 2016 is part of Operation Atlantic Resolve, and is led by U.S. Army Europe. The primary goal is strengthening partnerships with Bulgaria, Romania, and Estonia in order to promote a peaceful and stable Europe through joint engineering efforts and military police training.
