Members of the California National Guard's Los Alamitos-based 9th Civil Support Team (WMD) examine suspicious materials in a suspect's quarters aboard a charter yacht Aug. 17 in Marina del Rey during exercise United Harbors, which included 19 Los Angeles-area organizations. Simulated evidence found in the yacht pointed to a possible terrorist plot involving the release of the poison ricin and the bacteria that causes tularemia at an L.A. Rams football game. The California Highway Patrol, L.A. Police Department, L.A. Fire Department, L.A. County Sheriff's Department, L.A. County Fire Department, FBI and many others played roles in responding to the exercise scenario.
