Sgt. Michael Allen, a native of Muskogee, Okla., and a civil affairs Soldier with 486th Civil Affairs Battalion, currently attached to 1st Advise and Assist Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division, carries boxes of supplies to be distributed throughout the Baghdad area. Most of the supplies are donated by people in the States and then distributed throughout Iraq to teams like the 486th, who then work with local leaders to select areas that will most benefit from the aid.
