Inouye Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies, and DKI APCSS faculty member Dr. Miemie Byrd engage with Myanmar participants in the Aug. 15 to 19 "Building an Inclusive Security Sector in Myanmar" workshop. At center is Col. Nay Myo Hlaing, academic workshop lead for Myanmar's National Defense College, which partnered with DKI APCSS to conduct the event. The workshop was designed to assist Myanmar in its transition from military to civilian governance by enhancing civil-military and interagency cooperation.
