160826-N-WA993-091 YOKOSUKA, Japan (Aug. 26, 2016) Aviation Ordnanceman Airman (AW) Austin Emery, from Greenfield, Missouri, installs a barrel on an M2HB .50 caliber machine gun on the port catwalk of the Navy’s only forward-deployed aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). The M2HB .50 caliber machine gun is an automatic, recoil-operated, air-cooled machine gun. “I always liked working with guns,” said Emery. “Now I will continue to do it throughout my whole career.” Ronald Reagan provides a combat-ready force, which protects and defends the collective maritime interests of the U.S. and its allies and partners in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
