160824-N-WA993-014 YOKOSUKA, Japan (Aug. 24, 2016) Aviation Boatswain’s Mate (Handling) Airman Recruit Joshua Meli, from Kaneohe, Hawaii, blows water off pad-eyes on the flight deck of the Navy’s only forward-deployed aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). “I’m just a guy from a small island that's learning how to do my rate,” said Meli. “This air pressure gun is really fun to work with.” Ronald Reagan provides a combat-ready force, which protects and defends the collective maritime interests of the U.S. and its allies and partners in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
