A recruit from Hotel Company, 2nd Recruit Training Battalion, responds to his drill instructor’s orders during pick up at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Aug. 19. During their time at recruit training, the recruits will be pushed to their limits by their drill instructors as they attempt to become basically trained Marines. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Hotel Company is scheduled to graduate Nov. 9.
