MARINE CORPS BASE HAWAII – Lt. Col. Eric Purcell, the commanding officer of Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 463, and a New Milford, Conn., native, speaks to service members and representatives from multiple charity organizations during a ceremony held by Marine Aircraft Group 24 on Aug. 12, 2016, inside Hangar 102 aboard Marine Corps Air Station Kaneohe Bay. Representatives from the Great Aloha Run visited the base in order to donate $10,000 on behalf of the Great Aloha Run, which was divided between two military charities, the Semper Fi Fund and the Wingman Foundation. The Great Aloha Run, which raises approximately $400,000 annually, supports local charities and military organizations, and this year’s run was dedicated to the 12 service members HMH-463 lost in January’s training incident.
