Dr. Stephanie Tompkins, Director, Defense Sciences Office, Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, visited the Materials and Manufacturing Directorate, Air Force Research Laboratory, Aug. 11 to view some of the on-going research throughout AFRL. Tompkins was briefed on current research trends and activity in Nano tomography, materials characterization, additive manufacturing and the benefits of real-time analytics in development of technology for today’s warfighter. As the director of DSO, Tompkins maintains a strong interest in cutting-edge research that can accelerate the development of new technologies for national security.
