    With a sudden flash of blinding light an M109A6 Paladin lights up the field and shakes the earth sending a back blast of smoke and debris in all directions as B Battery, 1st Battalion, 9th Field Artillery, 2nd Heavy Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, fires off over 20 illumination rounds above Contingency Operating Site Marez and Diamondback, Mosul, Iraq, May 8.
