Congresswoman Donna Edwards, D-Md., member of the Science and Technology Committee introduces Marine Sgt. Amber Chavarria to House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi, May 9 during a congressional trip to Kandahar, Afghanistan. Chavarria, from Waldorf, Md., is the adminstrative non-commissioned officer for the commanding general of I Marine Expeditionary Force (FWD) out of Camp Leatherneck, Helmand province, Afghanistan. Both Edwards and Chavarria graduated from the same high school, Thomas Stone.
