Maj. Gen. Louis R. Visot, commanding general, 377th Theater Sustainment Command, is awarded a Defense Meritorious Service Medal May 3 by Maj. Gen. Simeon Trombitas, commanding general, Joint Task Force-Haiti, for his assistance in Operation Unified Response. Visot and the 377th TSC redeployed home after spending several months in Haiti, assisting with relief efforts. The 377th TSC conducted more than 3,000 humanitarian aid support missions, handled more than 2,900 shipping containers and 3,400 pallets, including 2.2 million rations and 1.2 million pounds of bulk food items.
