Scribes from Mike Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, write down recruits’ scores during a Marine Corps Martial Arts Program test at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, July 20. If a recruit received more than five deficiency marks during the test, for either conducting the wrong technique or executing it incorrectly, he failed the test. Recruits who don’t pass the first time will remediate and have another chance to pass the test. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Mike Company is scheduled to graduate Aug. 12.
