Brothers, Staff Sgt. Julio Arredondo, governance non-commissioned officer with the 486th Civil Affairs Battalion, and retired Sgt. Juan Arredondo, both of Coachella, Calif., in Mosul, Iraq, April 6, 2010. Juan, formerly an Avenger crew member with Company D, 1st Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment, returned to Iraq to the site in Ramadi where he lost his left hand to an improvised explosive device. The trip, made possible through Operation Proper Exit, was designed to help in the recovery process. Julio Arredondo, currently stationed at Contingency Operating Base Basra, was given the opportunity to see his brother during the trip, marking their first time together in Iraq.
