Navy Junior ROTC students attending the Basic Leadership and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Training summer camp work on an egg drop challenge as a team. Cadets were challenged to drop an egg from a three story building without breaking or cracking the egg after learning about the Mars Spirit Rover Landing. Senior Naval Science Instructor at Washington High School, Navy Capt. (ret.) Neil May said, “The nation needs more science/technology oriented people and this is our way of supporting that need while developing young leaders.” The BLAST camp was held at Crane Army Ammunition Activity’s reserve facility located on Naval Support Activity Crane July 5-9.
