A mechanized infantry team in an M113 armored personnel carrier from 1st Battalion, 8th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, scans their surroundings for threats while conducting area defense training during 3rd ABCT’s 20-day field exercise Iron Strike on the Fort Carson training area, July 13, 2016. As part of the training, the infantrymen were hit by a simulated chemical attack, prompting them to go through operational decontamination training conducted by 1st Bn.
